Dear Mr Yu, Thank you for your recent letter to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) dated 17th April 2007.The OFT does have powers under the Competition Act 1998 [‘the Act’] to take strong action against cartel agreements between firms to fix prices. The OFT may also take action against firms that are in a dominant position in a market if they are charging persistently excessive prices in relation to ‘the economic value of the product’. So I went to On Anon in Picadilly and apon arrival there was no queue. They wanted to charge us £10 entrance fee, until a friend said we're guestlisted, when we got in for £5 each.
How lame is that? Once we were in, it wasn't even that busy. I don't understand. Why not just have no cover charge and let more people in for more atmosphere and more income anyways?!! |
