The OFT does have powers under the Competition Act 1998 [‘the Act’] to take strong action against cartel agreements between firms to fix prices. So I went to On Anon in Picadilly and apon arrival there was no queue. They wanted to charge us £10 entrance fee, until a friend said we're guestlisted, when we got in for £5 each.
How lame is that?
Once we were in, it wasn't even that busy. I don't understand.
Why not just have no cover charge and let more people in for more atmosphere and more income anyways?!!

This is exactly the situations that occur all the time. Also in new places you might want to go in the take a look around first, but you ain't gonna do that if you gotta pay just to go in to see the place right!
Not fair.

About This Bubble:
Just the start of a new campaign to stop bars charging a cover charge just for entry!

Think about how much money they make already and how much more they charge you just for the privilege of being in their establishment, so that you can stand 3 deep in a queue at the bar to get a drink.

STOP THE COVER

I'm creating a website to push this campaign and have already started to contact the DTI and the Mayor of London.
